Jon Yapo

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS ADVISOR

Jon concentrates his practice on representation of clients before the legislative and executive branches of Florida government and before local governments in the Orange County/Orlando region of Central Florida.

Jon Yapo is a relentless relationship-builder in the political and policymaking arena. Clients value the personal touch he brings to client service, and the authentic connections he builds with elected policymakers and their staff.

Jon began his career as a political aide to a rising member of leadership in the Florida House of Representatives. After establishing a foothold in Florida politics and government, Jon served as the senior legislative aide to a state representative from Central Florida, where he learned the nuances of the legislative process and developed extensive relationships with staff in the legislative and executive branches in Florida’s Capitol.

Prior to joining Converge Government Affairs, Jon worked as a key member of the government affairs practice of an AmLaw 100 law firm, where he honed his skills as a tireless government affairs advocate.

Jon has extensive experience representing clients across a diverse array of industries and has led numerous issues on behalf of the firm’s local government clients.

When outside the Capitol in Tallahassee, Jon resides in Orlando,Florida and can frequently be found on the campaign trail throughout the Sunshine State alongside Florida’s rising political superstars. Jon serves on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Orlando Partnership (DOP), a nonprofit made up of more than 200 of the region’s business leaders. As a DOP leader, Jon has been called upon to facilitate discussion among public officials regarding public policy affecting the Central Florida region before the organization’s membership.

A renaissance man, Jon is an avid aficionado of music, the Orlando City MLS soccer team and the City of Orlando. Jon has also twice been named to political operative Roger Stone’s International Best and Worst Dressed list (thankfully, for the “Best Dressed” designation). If you walk through downtown Orlando with Jon Yapo, you will encounter an endless stream of handshakes and “hellos” from business and civic leaders.
